I moved to Cabo San Lucas in 2009 from Newport Beach, California and absolutely love it! I raised my family here and have owned multiple businesses. With an international airport only 40 minutes away from Cabo and 20 minutes away from San Jose Del Cabo it makes it an easy destination to get to. Every hotel is different, and every hotel's location offers a different vibe. Depending on your taste and needs, I have picked the top 5 hotels in Cabo to stay at based on my experiences.

1. Hyatt Vacation Club at Sirena del Mar

My favorite hotel based on seclusion and location. Nestled on the cliffs of Baja California Sur, the Hyatt Vacation Club at Sirena del Mar provides guests with breathtaking ocean views. This property is celebrated for its elegant villas featuring modern amenities, private terraces, and easy access to a secluded beach. Ideal for both relaxation and adventure, the resort boasts infinity pools, an on-site restaurant serving local and international cuisine, and diverse water sports activities including snorkeling and paddleboarding. Book from December to April and you will see whales jumping and swimming directly in front of the hotel. This hotel has the best cove in all of Cabo for snorkeling with crystal clear water. Even though the hotel is only 5 minutes from downtown Cabo, you feel secluded from the rest of the world. An added bonus is you get to see the world-famous arch from your room balcony. Best hotel in Cabo for whale watching! This hotel is fun for singles or families.

2. Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort

Situated on Médano Beach, this hotel is closest to all the activities on Medano Beach. Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort offers luxurious suites with panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez. This family-friendly hotel is famed for its spacious accommodations, gourmet dining options, and world-class spa services. The resort's proximity to downtown Cabo San Lucas allows guests to enjoy the vibrant nightlife, shopping, and dining experiences that the area is known for, all while relishing beachfront tranquility. Steps away from parasailing, jet skis, glass bottom boat tours and much more at Medano Beach. Also, it sits above the world-famous Mango Deck (my favorite beach restaurant and place to party in the day. Mango deck offers great food, live DJ and fun contest you can watch or join. This hotel can be a little loud because of its proximately to Mango Deck and other restaurants but with a couple of margaritas you will sleep fine. This hotel is fun for singles or families and is on a swimmable beach.

3. Playa Grande Resort and Grand Spa

Occupying a prime location between the marina and the Pacific Ocean, Playa Grande Resort and Grand Spa is distinguished by its hacienda-style architecture and sweeping ocean vistas. This hotel in on the Pacific Ocean and not the Sea of Cortez so it is not a swimmable beach but still beautiful and the rooms have amazing views of the Pacific Ocean. The resort features expansive suites, multiple pools, and a full-service spa. Guests can delight in on-site culinary options ranging from casual poolside fare to fine dining, and the resort’s blend of wellness and leisure services makes it a top choice for those seeking both relaxation and excitement. This is a large hotel with a lot of amenities. If you are looking for multiple pools, gyms, restaurants, etc., then this is the place for you. Only a 5–10 minute walk to the marina and downtown Cabo. Since it's located on the Pacific Ocean, the temperature is a little cooler and you normally have a slight refreshing breeze which is great from July-October when the weather is warmer. This hotel is fun for families or singles.

4. ME Cabo by Melia

Best hotel for young adults or single people. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and chic design, ME Cabo by Melia caters to a younger, fashionable crowd. Located near the nightlife hub of Cabo San Lucas, the hotel features stylish rooms and suites, a lively beach club, and pool parties hosted by renowned DJs. The property’s culinary offerings include globally inspired dishes, and its emphasis on art, music, and social interactions attracts guests looking for a dynamic, immersive vacation experience. Two of the funnest restaurants in Cabo are at the ME. Funky Geisha and Taboo Beach Club. This hotel is also on Medano Beach where you can find all the outdoor activities and restaurants (Mango Deck) and it's on a swimmable beach. By far the best party scene in Cabo! Definitely for single people.

5. Nobu Hotel Los Cabos

A 15-minute drive from downtown Cabo, this hotel is located on the Pacific side of Cabo. Usually about 5-10 degrees cooler than downtown Cabo in the summer. Blending modern luxury with traditional Japanese minimalism, Nobu Hotel Los Cabos offers an unparalleled experience on the Pacific coast. Accommodations are designed with clean lines, natural materials, and views of the ocean or gardens. The hotel's standout feature is the world-famous Nobu Restaurant, serving innovative Japanese-Peruvian cuisine. If you're looking for an all-inclusive hotel, the Hard Rock is on the same property. Nobu is good for families or single people.
